It happens all the time. They had two different mothers.

.

Sisters.

That answer doesn't work. The question states that they had the SAME mother, not different mothers. The simplest answer is that they were 2/3 of a set of triplets.

Actually, this happened with me, and it's neither of those answers.

My brother and I were born on the same day to the same mother, and we're not twins.

However, we were born five years apart.

According to the question, this is a correct answer, seems how we were both born on the day of October 7th. Nothing was mentioned about the same year.

They are two out of three babies (triplets) or a larger number (quadruplets, quintuplets, sextuplets).

The most children born alive at one time was 8, the result of an unsound in vitro transplant in 2009.

What is the difference between idetical and non idetical twins in the way they are found?

The difference between Identical and Non-Identical twins is that Identical twins share the same placenta and are basically identical to one another. Non-Identical twins do not share the same placenta in the womb and two eggs fertilized at time of conception as opposed to one egg splitting in the case of Identical twins. I think that covers the basics. Hope this has clarified things for you.

How will i know am having twins in my pregnancy?

Fraternal twins are the product of two separate combinations of ovum and sperm at the same time, resulting in genetically different children with a shared womb.Identical twins are the result of one ovum-sperm combination, which then splits into two separate children who are genetically identical. If the two children born from one pregnancy are genetically near 100% identical (with consideration for mutations and genetic alterations after the split or post-natal), they are identical. If the two children have closer to normal sibling genetic similarity (around 50%) but just share a birth time, they are fraternal. Also, identical twins share the same gender. If twins are of different gender, they must be fraternal (though fraternal twins can be same gender as well).

Why do scientists use twins to learn about human characteristics?

because they have very similar if not the exact same characteristics

What is The scientific name for identical twins.?

Identical twins (monozygotic) occur when a single egg, fertilized by a single sperm, splits into two identical halves. Two separate babies with identical DNA are formed. Identical twins are always the same sex and blood type. http://www.twin-pregnancy-and-beyond.com/identical-twins-or-fraternal-twins.html

Which type of twins develop from two fertilized eggs?

Twins from different eggs are fraternal twins. They are siblings with the same birthdate. They are twins, but not identical, and can even be girl and boy. It is the same process taking place as a single child that a woman becomes pregnant with, but the process happens with two children at the same time. The woman releases two eggs that month instead of one, and they both are fertilized. That is how this type of twin is produced.

What is the differences between identical twins and fraternal twins?

Identical twins arise from a single fertilized egg that for some reason split itself in two. Identical twins have exactly the same genetic make-up.Fraternal twins arise from two separate eggs. Sometimes both of a woman's ovaries will produce an egg cell at the same time. Each of these is fertilized by a separate sperm cell (of which there are always plenty) so they have different genetic make-up. They may share the same womb and be born at the same time but are no more closely related than true brothers.
