A satirical sentence is one that uses humor, irony,or obvious irrationality to make its point, whether or not it is intended as ridicule or criticism. In this regard , it is often difficult to distinguish from a facetious statement.

"The county could save a lot of money by requiring homeowners to repaint any fire hydrants in front of their homes."

"The city stopped washing its buses because they kept getting dirty again."

"We should hire illegal immigrants as teachers because that way we can pay them less."
