No - some of his pieces (especially some of the Nocturnes) have that trés espressif feel that is usually tied in with Impressionism, but he predates the real Impressionist period by a considerable distance, and this difference is further exaggerated because he died so young. He was definitely a precursor to it and influenced it greatly, but he himself was not Impressionist.
