∙ 11y agoNo, he wanted to prove that the world was round, he was the 2nd person to try and prove it as Christopher Columbus was the 1st. He had 3 ships, one of them broke/fell apart in the sea. He also wanted to find new land and new spices along with money. If he was like Columbus and found new land, the king and queen of Spain would be behind him and take that new land and in return he would get gold or money.
