Actually Jesus was in the desert for forty days and nights. And yes he did get tempted by Satan. Three times.
No, Jesus spent 40 days in the desert, not 40 years. You are confusing Jesus with Moses and the Israelites.
Even though after his baptism, Jesus was lead by the spirit, and yes was tempted by the Satan.
Jesus was tempted by Satan after He was baptized, when He went into the wilderness for 40 days and nights. Read the account in Matthew 4:1 through 11.
When Jesus is tempted by Satan three times, Jesus rebuffs those attacks and the devil leaves him.
The New Testament does not give any information of the "wilderness" of Jesus' temptation.
It was not a pleasent time for Jesus. He had been in the desert for forty days and nights with no food or water. He must have been weak, not only from His fast but also from being in the presence of Satan. If nothing else, Satan was hoping to wear Him out. But Christ held firm and defeated Satan on the cross.
In the King James version In Matthew 4 # Satan came to Jesus when he was fasting and tempted him to turn stones to bread. # Satan took Jesus to the top of the temple in Jereusalem and tempted him to jump off, saying that angels would protect him. # Next Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if he would worship Satan.
The Judean wilderness
According to Christian belief, Jesus was tempted by Satan in the desert but did not give in to temptation. He resisted temptation by quoting Scripture and remained faithful to God.
Satan tempted Jesus to be a political messiah who would use power to conquer nations, a miracle-working messiah who would perform grand acts to prove his identity, and a self-serving messiah who would prioritize personal gain over fulfilling his divine mission. Jesus resisted these temptations by staying true to his purpose as the sacrificial Lamb of God.
In 1964
Actually, Jesus was tempted during the 40 days in the wilderness, not after. Satan offered Him power, land and riches, all of which Jesus refused. Then Satan wanted Jesus to prove He was the son of God, again, Jesus would have no part of it.
he was tempted 3 times by Satan but never gave in!
