No, not really- he liked to sometimes shock the 'straight' world by making controversial or provocative statements about Christianity or other mainstream religions, but in reality he was more of a mystic. Jim was a very intelligent man, and took a great interest in the esoterics of life and the inherent spirituality that was ingrained in all of humanity, that cut across religious and political divides. He took issue with attitudes and views put forward by the Christian church that he felt were restricting people's spiritual understanding, or were backward-looking or prejudiced against a real intellectual realisation of 'right and wrong'. But his deep mysticism and attempts to rise above the bigotry of aspects of the Christian church should never be mistaken for him being satanic- he was way too profound and intelligent a fellow to align himself with any particular creed.
