Several women have played Peter Pan in stage musical adaptations: Jean Arthur (1950), Mary Martin (starting in 1954), Sandy Duncan (1970s-1980s), Mia Farrow (1976, TV special), and Cathy Rigby (1990s-present).
There was also a silent movie made in 1924, which was a lot like the stage productions of the time, starring Betty Bronson.

∙ 13y agoWomen and girls are portrayed positively in Peter Pan. The Lost Boys are children who fell out of their baby carriages. According to Peter, they are all boys because "girls are ... much too clever to fall out of their carriages." Mothers are depicted very positively.
