"The Wall" was released in 1979 but songs such as "Another Brick in the Wall pt.2" became very very popular later. They also did a tour of "The Wall" in 1980-81 which was the first show of it's kind (also very popular).

After that, Pink Floyd took a break but became very popular again in 1987 with their first album without their leader Roger Waters, "A Momentary Lapse of Reason".
