i think that it could have been once a moon of Neptune. because for one it goes almost partly around the planet neptune.and it could have had just picked up asteroids and meteoroids on it cycle around the planet and got enough gravitational pull. or it Coud've broke free and caught into another planets orbit Charon and now they circle around each other
