The Articles of Confederation
QUESTION: WHAT WAS THE FIRST FORM OF OUR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT? =ANSWER: ARTICLES OF CONFEDERATION=
confederation
The Americans implemented the Articles of Confederation as the first form of constitution. However, this document established a very weak form of government.
To strengthen the national government
They wanted to form their own country. (They wanted to secede from the United States of America and form their own Confederate States of America).
The southern states formed a confederation and split from the union to show their discontent with the slave policies. They wanted to keep slaves and the northerners wanted the emancipation of slaves without compensation (which would result in a major loss for the economy of the south).
Not many leaders lost faith in the Articles of Confederation. The colonies won the American Revolution because they had a better reason to win. So if they did win, they wanted to form a more perfect union which they had to start somewhere or else they would go no where. So that's why not a lot of leaders lost faith.
Tecumseh formed a confederation of Indian nations to resist the encroachment of American settlers on their lands and to protect their sovereignty. He believed that a united front among various tribes was essential to effectively combat the growing power of the United States and their westward expansion. By creating this alliance, Tecumseh aimed to preserve Native American culture, territory, and autonomy, seeing it as a necessary step to secure their future against colonial pressures. His efforts were also supported by the British, who sought to leverage Native American alliances in their conflict with the U.S. during the War of 1812.
Southern states joined together to form a confederation.
The Articles of Confederation created a form of government in which prople elect representatives to run the country.
