Best Answer

I have only been skiing once and it was great experience.

I first went to a great ski school where they taught me how to stop, turn, slow down, ect. The teacher recommended what hills I should ski on (like the easy, green hills) and that is where I went. I did fall down 4-5 times, but nothing big!

So it really depends on the person skiing, but my first time was actually pretty easy.

TIP:

If it's your first time skiing (or if you haven't been skiing in a while) I would recommend taking a class. Don't be intimidated about taking a class. Even pros take classes to improve on their skills.

Do you need a helmet for crosscountry skiing?

My advice is to always wear a helmet when you go skiing. It can be very dangerous if you dont have one, because the snow is hard to land on. Even if you go skiing in deep snow, you never know if there are stones hidden underneath it.
