The most popular engine was the 400. However, in those days, you didn't have to buy a cookie cutter car like you do now. You could pick and choose just about any option you desired. So I am sure there are '69 428 equipped GTOs out there.
GM had a self imposed 400 ci limit for intermediates. It was lifted in 1970 and they started to use the 455. Prior to 1970 the 428 was only used in full size models.
Zero. Pontiac never installed the 428 in the GTO. GM had a corporate ban on engines larger than 400 CID until 1970. In 1970, the 455 replaced the 428. ALL GTO's built from 1964-1966 came with 389's. ALL GTO's built from 1967-1969 came with 400's.
They did make a 428 in 65gto
i think the GTO has the LS2 6.2 That depends on what your idea of a Pontiac engine is. The "New" Pontiac GTO was available with the 6.0 engine. If you are talking about a traditional Pontiac engine, the largest factory offered engine is the 455 from 1970-1976.
Yes. A gto is pretty much the same chassis as a chevelle, which was available with a 396, which is the same size and weight as a 454.
pontiac made the GTO the year of the car started in 1968. i would recomend the 1969 GTO judge
455 in the GTO.
a 1969 gto judge.
yep like the 1969 GTO, and Comaro
The Rear Axel for a 1969 Pontiac GTO is 60"
You can purchase a 1969 GTO from a variety of places. Private sellers may have one on sale, as may a classic car salesroom. Failing that, you can try sites such as AutoTrader.
The 2004 gto has 350 hp coming from the engine but that is not rwhp.
The most popular car from 1964-1969 was the Pontiac GTO.
