It depends on the actual area that France claimed and sold in 1803, but it was at least as large in area as the purchase of Alaska from Russia (1867). One estimate is as large as 828,000 square miles, which is substantially larger than the area of Alaska (about 665,000 square miles).
However, Alaska was cheaper, at about 2 cents an acre, compared to 4 cents per acre for Louisiana.
