No. Extensive glaciation was limited to the southernmost land masses. Tropical regions remained quite warm.
The previous answer was incorrect. NOW the Earth's surface is covered with ice, but during the most recent ice age, NEARLY 30% of the Earth was covered by ice!I'm a little bold
An ice age is a cold time period in earth's histor during which glaciers covered large parts of Earth's surface. An Ice-age is a time period between Paleothic & Neolithic era when thick ice sheets covered much of the world. An ice age is any period in Earth's history where polar icecaps were in place. In the latest ice age almost the whole world was covered with ice (almost as far as the equator), most of that ice has now retreated as the earth's temperature increased but what is left is still at the coldest parts of the world i.e. the poles. The ice was created from water freezing at the low temperatures and then covered with snow.
