It should behind the crankshaft pulley, just next to the timing belt gear.
The crankshaft position sensor must be behind the timing belt cover next to the crankshaft and behind the crankshaft pulley. The camshaft position sensor is again under the timing belt cover next to the camshaft and behind and the camshaft pulley. Is it the same place in 2000 Camry 4Cyl? Do you have pictures of the location? Hard or easy to replace, and what tools do I need? Thanks alot
It's next to the timing belt gear. The sensor can be accessed from the the firewall side.
It identifies "Top Dead Center" for cylinder #1 for proper firing order to the computer.
You can find it lower the valve cover on the side of the engine facing the firewall.
Man I wish i knew. I also wish I knew where it's location as well.
location of Crankshaft Position sensor, 1996 Camry,
If you mean the camshaft sensor, you can find right next to the exhaust on the right side. It has a connector with only wire coming out. You might have to use a special wrench to use replace it (especially for older models).
The Camshaft Sensor on the 5S-FE engine it located on the back of the cylinder head (facing the firewall) next to the back of the timing cover. It is fastened to the cylinder head with a 10mm bolt.
Throttle position sensor is located at the throttle body. There are only two sensors there. The one facing the firewall is what you are looking for.
on a 1992 Camry the map sensor is attached to the center of the firewall by a bracket and has a rubber vacuum hose connected to it.
its in the cylinder head, above the power steering pump. when youre looking at the engine with the hood up, look to the left side of the engine. in the back of the head down about 4" there are 2 wires and a plug. this connects to the cam sensor.
