On a 4 speed transmission it is the output speed sensor. That ir the sensor on the front of the trans farthest to the driver side. On a 3speed transmission it is on the housing that the passenger axle shaft comes out of trans in.

input and output speed sensors are located on the side of the transmission case across from each other. they are plastic and screw into the trans on 3.3l and 3.8l 3.0 may have the sensor where the pass side axle goes into the tranny
my 1999 dodge caravan did the same thing and it was the speed sensor gone in it.THE speed sensor is located on top of transmission drivers side. Have it checked for codes, could be major or minor.
It is possible, but not likely for a transmission fluid leak from the speed sensors.
