under the exhaust manifold. follow the bottom radiator hose (the one that drops below the oil pan).. the metal piece that the hose connects to holds the thermostat (thermostat's at the other end)
follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the motor. it will be inside the housing the hose attaches to. ps...not easy to replace
ON THE 1996 I IT SAYS THEY ARE NEAR OR UNDER THE WATER PUMP
chain
it has a chain
bottom of engine below ex manifold.
The thermostat on a 2002 Dodge Quad Cab is located just below the pulleys on the fan belt. It is on the passenger side front of the motor, in the end of the largest hose that comes off the radiator.
It is located on th driver side. Under the motor you will see a hose coming frrom the radiator going to a metal pipe the pipe goes to the water pump housing were the metal pipe and water pump housing boltup is were the thermostat is. hope it helps
IF ITS A QUAD 4 THE HOUSING IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VALVE COVER BY THE POWER STEERING BELT 2 BOLTS.
ask if its a quad 4 engine IF IT IS RUNS FAST AND FAR WITHOUT THAT CAR ! THE QUAD 4 GM MOTOR IS A LEMON
According to the Haynes Manual it's located in the Water pump cover.
Try your local junk yards and if they don't have it tell them to get on their locator to find you one.
If you have replaced the thermostat already, and the radiator is flowing properly, I hate to tell you, but the quad 4 has a nasty reputation of cracking heads around the exhaust seats. Be very careful in getting this repaired; make sure the shop that does it has had experience with this motor.
