There were more species of plant eating dinosaur than there were species of carnivorous dinosaur. Additionally, the populations of carnivores would have been much smaller than the populations of similarly sized herbivores.
Ultimately, animals can't make their own energy, so they have to steal it, either from plants or from other animals. This means that towards to bottom of the food chain, there will always be many more plant-eaters than flesh-eaters. Dinosaurs would have been no different; for every big predator like Allosaurus or Carnotaurus, there would have been hundreds of sauropods, anatosaurs, ceratopsians and ankylosaurs.
Dinosaurs could be just meat eaters, just plat eaters, or both.
there were more meat eaters then plant eaters.
It depends on WHICH reptile, as most lizards eat insects, turtles eat leafy greens and grasses, but large snakes can take small deer!
Both, Because Green seaturtles eat algae and grass, and leather back seaturtle eat jellyfish
The most dinosaurs were herbivores. Carnivorous dinosaurs were far more common than omnivores, however.
It is a meat eater
yes they all do
More dinosaurs were plant eaters than meat eaters. That is because there is more food for plant eaters than for meat eaters.
plant eaters
Most dinosaurs were plant eaters. This is because plants are more common than animals.
there were more pant eaters. They are called Herbivores. Meat eating dinosaurs are called, carnivores. Carnivores ate Herbivores.
no there are more plant eaters.
the meat eaters were able to hunt in packs while plant eaters could not control there herd
More species of dinosaurs were herbivorous. Additionally, the populations of herbivorous dinosaurs were much larger than the populations of equally sized carnivorous dinosaurs.
meat - eaters
NO!
In the Mesozoic, just as today, carnivores couldn't survive without there being far more herbivores than carnivores. For example, the most common dinosaurs in the Cretaceous were the herbivorous dinosaurs called hadrosaurs. In the Jurassic, the most common dinosaurs were sauropods, which were also herbivores.
Dinosaurs which ate meat were the smartest ones, had claws, had sharp teeth and always walked on two legs* (for running fast to catch their prey). Some examples are: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor, Allosaurus, Carnotaurus. There are alot more. *Some plant eaters walked on two legs too.
if your speaking population or overall, then pop. is probably meat eaters because they eat the plant eaters, but when the plant eaters die down the meat eaters go down until the plant eaters grow back up. so it is very hard to determine if there is more or less. hope this helps
