They are larger for the larger dinosaur species and smaller for the smaller ones (just as an ostrich egg is much much larger than a robin's egg).
Dinosaurs were likely the most diverse group of vertebrates to ever roam the earth. There were dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes, they were not the monsters portrayed in movies. But some dinosaurs did get to very large sizes. Dinosaurs grew to such sizes as a way of defence against predators, which also grew to large sizes accommodate to the large size of he prey. This cycle of evolution continued to produce the giants who's fossils we find today. Dinosaurs were able to grow to such massive sizes because of a hollow bone structure which allowed to cut off excess weight, and a different kind of lungs which was able to extract more oxygen of the air. The unique kind of lungs which dinosaurs probably had is seen today in birds, it allows birds to function at high altitudes during migrations. As birds are just a branch of dinosaurs which survived the extinction event, which killed all non-avian dinosaurs 65 million years ago, they are a prime focus of study of dinosaur physiology. Although birds acquired unique adaptations in the last 65 million years, a careful comparison between dinosaur remains and birds reveals much more then just dinosaurs fossils.
They were both sizes. Some like Microraptor and Compsagnathus were the size of chickens. Oviraptor was smaller then a 3rd grader. Stygimoloch was big as a adult person. Triceratops and Parasaurolophus were the size of an elephant. Argentinosaurus was as big as 2 elephants stacked on top of each other. Dinosaurs have MANY sizes.
It depends on your definition on big. If you are not including baby dinosaurs, the smallest dinosaur was the Microrapter, at the size of approximately 60cm long.
All dinosaurs were not big. In fact the vast majority of them were small.
No, many dinosaurs were small. Examples include the 0.36 lb Epidexipteryx, Compsognathus, and Orodromeus. Birds are also dinosaurs, and most of them are small.
No
Why dinosaurs were so big is because in prehistoric times there was no winter. and dinosaurs are lizards and lizards never stop growing. so mixed with humidity and surplus of food the dinosaurs or lizards lived for hundreds of years and grow all that time.
Not all dinosaurs had large feet. Some dinosaurs were small and didn't have big feet.
very big
yes because dinosaurs are big
A meteorite had hit the earth and there was a big explosion. And all the dinosaurs died.. :(
the best time of dinosaurs was the jurassic period where big sauropods ruled the earth ,late in the cretaceous period some species of dinosaurs were in decline before the hit of the meteorite that killed all dinosaurs
stegasaurs are dinosaurs with big spikes on their long tail. they are not as big as a tyrannosaurus but bigger than a valociraptor.
yes dinosaurs are a kind of reptiles they are big lizards
some predict the the dinosaurs died of a big asteroid.
All dinosaurs had backbones.
birds or small lizards or mammals or just plain dead and extinct, the dinosaurs evolved into all of these thing except for the last one which just happened to the ones to big to evolve fast enough to survive
