The Roman's invented things such as the Arch, roads, cement and bridges. These are just some of the main things, but there are many more. Cement, being one of the main things they invented lead to them making many more things needing cement.
The Romans had the most advanced technology of the western world, some of which they cribbed from the Greeks. They were able to build aqueducts to take water into their cities. They built the most advanced roads, of their time, the stone-paved roads. to take troops to battle, which were also used for commerce once the battles were won. The stone-paved roads made up 20% of the road network of the empire. They developed the arch, the dome, the vaulted ceiling, and concrete, even a concrete for docks and harbours. They adopted the cranes of the Greeks and improved on them. These, together with the arch and concrete allowed for huge buildings such as the Colosseum to be built. They adopted the siege machines of the Greeks, including the ballista, a catapult. They greatly improved the ballista.
