Best Answer
  1. Transform--where plates essentially grind past each other with no subduction.
  2. Convergent--where plates collide. Oceanic plate to oceanic plate convergence will result in the more dense plate subducting under the less dense plate. Oceanic plate to continental plate collision will result in the oceanic plate subducting under the continental plate. Continental plate to continental plate collision will result in uplift, thickening of crust, and creation of mountain chains.
  3. Divergent--where plates move apart. The major diverging plates are located at the mid-ocean ridge system where melting material from the asthenosphere fills in the separating plate zone, creating new crust.

What are the three ways boundaries interact?

convergent boundaries: plates move together divergent boundaries: plates move apart transform boundaries: plates move against each other

In what ways do plates in the earths crust move?

they move in all sorts of ways like the bottom and the top lol :}

Name the 3 ways that plates move along a fault in earth and explain the difference between them?

Plates move along a fault through transform boundaries, where they slide past each other horizontally. Plates can also move through divergent boundaries, where they move away from each other. Lastly, plates can move along convergent boundaries, where they collide and push against each other, leading to subduction or mountain formation.

In what direction do tectonic plates go?

Tectonic plates move from east to west as a whole due to the coreolis (not sure of spelling) effect.

What is a eartquake?

tectonic plates- move in 3 ways 1. collide w/ eachother 2.seperate from eachother 3. slide against eachother when plates are moved to the breaking point it causes an eartquake an earthquake is a seismic wave

What are at least three ways plates interact with each other?

They slide, move towards and move away from each.

What are three ways tectonic plates interact with each other?

When plates slide past each other, move toward each other, and move away from each other.

What are three ways plates can move in relation to one another?

Plates either move towards each other (convergent plates), away from each other (divergent plates) or slide next to each other (transform plates).

In what three ways can tectonic plates move?

Im pretty sure its ridge push, slab pull, and mantle convection

Cite evidences to show that earthquakes occur at the boundaries between plates?

example of these is the plates are moving in different ways and when it move the earthquake will occur

What are three ways plates move?

Plates move through seafloor spreading, where new oceanic crust is created at mid-ocean ridges and pushes existing plates apart. Another way is through subduction, where one plate slides beneath another due to differences in density. Plates can also move horizontally past each other at transform boundaries.

What are the four ways tectonic plates move to form an earthquake?

1:towards eachother 2:towars eachother slanting 3:apart from eachother 4:grinding motion
