bones are living tissue. the skeletal system is made up of connective tissue called bone. the types of bone are long bones which can be found in your arm and legs, short bones which can be found in fingers, irregular bones which are in your spine, and flat bones which are your ribs and shoulder blade.

there is two types of bone tissue. first there is compact bone which is dense tissue that gives the bone much of its strength. it is a hard layer of bone outside the spongy bone. spongy bone is strong and lightweight. it is located in flat bones and at the end of bones.

the functions of our skeletal system are support, movement, and protection. there is the axial skeletal system it provides support and protection. like your ribs, vertebra, and cranium. there is also your appendicular skeletal system, and that provides movement. like your ulna and radius.

you also have bone marrow. marrow produces blood cells, fills the spaces in spongy bone. there is two types of marrow, red and yellow marrow. red marrow is to produce new blood cells. the yellow marrow stores fat that can be used for energy.

hopefully this helped you with your homework or something else

The spongy bone is a connective tissue that make bones both light and strong. The bone marrow which can be yellow or red and is made mostly of fat that store energy, and is located in the middle of long bones.
