I think the University of Alabama in Tuscalusa, Al still holds the record of 14 National championships. They haven't won it in a long time though so someone may have taken the record from them.

Though Bama, sc, Notre Dame have claimed Championships before polls started.
For NCAA Men's Basketball it is UCLA with 11
Depending on whose records a person goes by, it is either Notre Dame or Alabama. The AP Poll lists eight championships for each team. The NCAA record book lists Alabama with nine, and Notre Dame with five.
