If it has a block heater it will be installed on the passenger side of the engine , in place of one of the freeze plugs ( core plug , expansion plug etc )
Heater core will come out under the dash on the passenger side. it is possible to change the core without removing the heater housing. there was two different size cores as I remember but both will fit.

The core plugs are along the side of the engine (the side facing the front of the car) and one larger one on the rear of the engine which is inside the bell housing.
If using standard copper core spark plugs, every 30,000 miles. If using platinum plugs, up to every 100,000.
