∙ 10y agoGenerally, when the dots are on the base line, i.e. level with the bottom of the letters, the following applies -
1. One dot denotes a end of sentence. This is called a "full stop", providing time to take a breath of air.
2. Two dots are not often seen, but mean the same as
3. Three or more dots merely mean that the reader should take a breath (when reading aloud - same as a full stop), then take a little longer pause before continuing. Meant as a means of supplying time for the reader to consider the meaning and sense of the sentence which also provides dramatization.
