D1110 for an adult prophy/cleaning Dentists are only allowed to bill for dental treatment with dental codes and not allowed to use medical codes. Billing with a medical code while performing a dental procedure for which a dental code exists is considered insurance fraud and punishable by law.

We would tend to use D7210 when it is a more complex case and includes anesthesia or might include anxiolytics such as Xanax or Halcion.
