Bach was born into a very musical family of ten, including himself and his parents, in Eisenach, Saxe-Eisenach which is northern Protestant part of Germany. He was born on the 21 March, 1685. His family taught him to play the violin, the harpischord, viola and organ.

He married two women in his lifetime : Anna and Maria. He first married Maria on 7 July 1720,who gave birth to his first seven children but then she suddenly died.
