thereare no states in New Zealand so only the one capital:wellington

but if there were. the south island would be christchurch(currently having an earthquake,people dead,)and for varios parts of the north island:

north north island:auckland

middle north island:hamilton or tauranga (depending which side hamilton west tauranga east)

south north island:wellington

New Zealand is not divided into states. There is just the one national capital, which is Wellington.
