What model of universe creation is supported by the red shift?
All modern models based on science that are worth their salt would be. The only major theory I know about the origin of the universe is the Big Bang Theory, which is supported by Red Shift observations. Galaxies we can observe are all moving away (we know this due to Red Shift) from a central point, believed to be the epicenter of the Big Bang.
What is the difference between the cosmological and Doppler red shift?
Red shift is the change in the spectra of galaxies towards being more red than we would expect them to be. Doppler Shift results from galaxies being in motion away from us. Thus, the large Andromeda Galaxy has a blue shift, because it and our Milky Way Galaxy are being pulled towards each other due to gravity. Cosmological Shift results from the space between us and other galaxies growing larger over time, even though neither they nor our Milky Way Galaxy are in motion relative to one another.
Interstellar reddening is caused by what?
A downward shift in frequency of radiation (perceived as reddening in the visible spectrum) is observed in most stars outside the Milky Way Galaxy. This red shift is assumed to be caused by the stars moving away from our galaxy at a sizable fraction of the speed of light. This shift is similar to the Doppler effect in sound.
