One form is the one we should all actively be engaged in and that is personal prayer. A prayer that is offer up to God that we may give thanks for all that He has done for us.

Then there are what might be called formal prayers or set prayers, such as at a baptism, blessing of the Sacrament. Prayers may be offered on behalf of the sick and troubled. Prayers can be offered anywhere and for practically anything. A builder of a house may offer up a prayer that he might be guided to do a good job. A father may give his children blessings as the patriarch of the home. One might pray for compassion or understanding. One of the most important is the one offered up for forgiveness of ones sins.

There is fasting, which is where you go a period of time without eating. It crusifies your flesh so you can follow your spriratual side. You don't eat and it's a personal prayer to God. You can fast for whatever reason. There is praying for needs, as in sickness, friends, relationships, guidance, etc. And most important worshiping God, is a kind of prayer.

First, there are solo prayers, where the prayer leader (a religiously neutral term) says, chants or sings the prayer and the congregation listens (perhaps responding amen in some religious tradtions). Second, there are responsive or antiphonal prayers, where the prayer leader and the congregation alternate, and third, there are communal prayers, where the leader and congregation recite, chant or sing the text in unison.

What if any relationship is there between theology and prayer?

Theology is the study of the nature of God and religious beliefs, while prayer is a practice of communicating with a higher power. Theology informs our understanding of who or what we are praying to, as well as the beliefs and practices that shape our prayers. In turn, prayer can deepen our theological understanding and relationship with the divine by providing a tangible way to embody and reflect on our beliefs.
