The paths that the magnetic poles wander
Polar wander
Polar displacement. I think what your referring to if we are talking in a geological sense is actually called polar wandering and it is the apparent movement of the north and south poles over geological time however the poles are actually not the objects moving it is the continental landmasses under plate tectonics moving the land under the poles. The poles do move slightly before they reverse however plate tectonics is the main cause of polar wandering.
The noun 'wander' is a common noun, a general word for any instance of walking or driving around without an obvious purpose.A proper noun is the name of a specific person, place, or thing; for example, Wander Lane in Wantagh, NY or Wander Brewing in Bellingham, WA.The word 'wander' is also a verb: wander, wanders, wandering, wandered.
The Paths of the Perambulator was created in 1985.
they wander in the night
Apparent polar-wander paths show that the continents have moved because the paths traced by the magnetic poles from different time periods do not align with the current geographic North Pole. This discrepancy implies that the continents must have shifted positions relative to the poles over time.
Polar wander
He liked to wander through the forests, letting his thoughts meander as he explored the quiet paths.
stars dont move, but as we move they appear to.
It was not the pole that wandered but the continent wandered relative to a fixed pole.
The phrase "The Wander owns the shade From Holes" suggests that those who wander or explore have the power to uncover hidden truths or meanings ("Holes") that are not easily apparent. It implies that through exploration and curiosity, one can discover deeper insights and perspectives that may not be readily visible.
Transport wander of a gyroscope is apparent when the gyroscope crosses a meridian that is converging with another. So, at any latitude other than the Equator, any East-West movement will cause transport wander. As North-South movement involves tracking along a meridian (and not crossing) then no transport wander occurs. Although East-West movement along the Equator does involve crossing meridians, because all meridians are parallel at the Equator no transport wander occurs.
The future tense is will wander.
No, wander is not a verb
The Earth's magnetic field is created by electric currents flowing roughly parallel to the Equator. There is not necessarily just the one electrical path, and what we see is the net result of several paths. It follows that if some of the paths are more convoluted that others, the apparent Pole will move accordingly. At the moment in the South Atlantic there is an area that appears to be reversing its polarity. There is little firm data as to the time a reversal takes. The Earth's magnetic field seems to protect the Earth from a flow of charged particles, or rather, it concentrates them in polar regions.
