Static addressing is when you manually assign an IP address to computers accessing your network.

Pros

- Managing your networks devices manually can be good for small networks

- If devices come into the network and need to be monitored specifically

- If you have devices moving in and out of your networking because you can only allow permitted devices to connect

Cons

- Configuring manual IP addresses can be quite tedious especially in large networks

- IP's used need to be logged so you can avoid confusion when adding more devices

- Network configuration always need to be modified by the certified person to do so as the IP addresses need to be unblock is IP's are filtered but also so that incorrect IP address are not added.
