Hello, I did a project on the one child policy recently and here are some interesting facts I came across:

•There are about 9.4 million girls in orphanages in China.

•Adoptions increased from about 2,000 in 1992 to 55,000 in 2001.

. There are 119 boys born for every 100 girls in China today, compared with 108.5 boys per 100 girls during the 1980s.

• Right now, the Chinese leaders, are thinking about allowing families two children.
• - Now, In the 21st century, if you are an only child, and you get married to another only child, you can have two children.

• Extreme overpopulation warrants the extreme "one child" policy it is fair to call China's "one child" policy "extreme". But, it is justified in the simple sense that China faces an extreme overpopulation crisis. Desperate times call for desperate measures. The Chinese government cannot be blamed for taking these aggressive, but necessary measures.

• One child policy generally improves living standards of Chinese

• Chinese can simply pay a fine to have an extra child. In many regions of China, families that really want a second child can have one, and simply have to pay a fine. But, in general, Chinese regional authorities do not go so far as to absolutely ban having a second child. Therefore, the status quo merely discourages and disincentives having a second child.

It is true about China's one child policy. If you have more than one child, you have to pay extra taxes. You also have the choice of selling a boy or girl but you mostly sell boys because they are helpful around the house while they see the daughter as being useless, if you want to sell a daughter you have to pay money to a man to marry her. If as you're reading this you feel offended know that the boys have to stay with the parents and take care of them until their last breath while girls are happily married to a rich man.
