What would be a good classroom pet? An aquarium with fish. Depends on the age of the children, Things to consider:
Where will the pet live?
What does the pet need?
Where will the money for the pet, its food, and supplies come from?
Who will take care of the pet?
What if the pet gets sick or injured?
What problems will there be with this pet?
Who will take care of the pet on the weekends and during vacations?
While I know cool pets like ferrets or bunnies is the answer you might be looking for, something low maintenance like fish would be better. You have to remember there is no one there to care for the animal on the weekends and holidays and over summer someone would need to be responsible as well. It is true that pets could be farmed out to families in the class- this can put a great deal of stress on the animal as it never has a place to call it's 'home'. Also some animals can be unintentionally aggressive= and may injure a child not experienced with handling a pet. This would be traumatic to the human as well as the animal.

we had a classroom pet and it was a rabbit! You can also try a turtle or a tadpole and raise it, maybe even a lizard. It depends on your style of pets. Have fun choosing&&have a great day!

Wild rabbits are not suitable as pets because they are not domesticated and may exhibit aggressive behavior. It is best to adopt a domesticated rabbit from a shelter or breeder if you are looking for a pet rabbit.

Cottontail rabbits are wild animals and not typically suitable for domestication as pets. They have specific needs and behaviors that are difficult to meet in a home environment. It is recommended to choose a domesticated rabbit breed if looking for a pet rabbit.

Rabbits are not the cleanest pet you could have (as they can carry disease), but as long as you keep their living environment clean and sanitary, you won't have any problems.
