Hormones are a regulatory substance produced in an organism and transported in tissue fluids such as blood to stimulate cells or tissues into action. Hormones are vital for proper function of the body because the substances trigger the proper function. Some things that could go wrong with the body function when hormones are absent could be lack of growth and fertility.
The human body depends on dozens of hormones to send messages & provide energy to support those messages. Most people assume that Testosterone is THE male hormone, but there are many & even a health dose of the FEMALE hormone estrogen is in every male.
The main function of hormones is to communicate instructions to the body & then provide the energy to make those things happen. Adrenaline is a Hormone & when we get scared it sends a message to the muscles to fight or RUN & then it gives the muscles an extra dose of energy to make running possible.
Testosterone is an important Male Hormone, that defines much of the male physiology, everything from where & how much we add muscles to sex drive to our deeper voices and facial hair growth.
When testosterone is high in a healthy male sexual response is fast and interest is high. when Testosterone starts to fade after 40 sexual desire starts to decrease & the ability to get an erection can be slower as well.
Testosterone also determines the sex of a baby in the gestation process so from conception courtship through conception to gestation "Male Hormones " drive much of the process.
Hormones play a massive role in making sure that an animals body runs properly. Hormones are responsible for growth and development for example.
In the reproductive system male and female hormones are completely different but in other systems all the hormones are same for example the thyroid gland produces thyroxine in both male and female and the pituitary gland produces ADH in both male and female
