If you mean Etiquette as an industry, the general trend is to the less formal. The general rules of hospitalty and consideration for your guests will remain more or less static, but things like less formal or theme weddings are becoming more popular. Formal dinners in the home are going the way of the dinosaurs except in very high society. Things like cotillions and debutante balls are also becoming less prevalent. Good manners and courtesy will always grease the wheels of civilized behavior [ I hope ] but we have more pressing social concerns nowadays that lots of frivolous parties.
