Franklin Roosevelt would be considered a bad president in a patriotic Americans opinion because he was a Statist, which is a leader who slowly moves a government toward socialism. Some of his "New Deal" legislation was considered unconstitutional by more conservative justices, but Roosevelt eventually filled the US Supreme Court with sympathetic liberals who approved his plans.

  • FDR wasn't a bad president at all - in fact, he is ranked among the best presidents in US history.
  • FDR is considered to be a bad president by some modern historians because of his frequent over-stepping of executive power, numerous failed and failing social programs that exist even today, blatant disregard for constitutional processes, and many other things. He also put Japanese-American citizens into internment camps around the same time Hitler was putting Jews in death camps.
