"raw material" is the term given to the stuff needed to make things.

eg the "raw materials" needed to make a wooden table are wood, nails and glue.
1. Toluene diisocyanate 2. Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide 3. Diethylene glycol monomethyl ether 4. Polyester polyol 5. Uranium hexafluoride 6. d-Limonene 7. Thiocarbamide 8. Terephthalic acid 9. Bisphenol A 10. Anhydrous ammonia
An example of raw materials would be iron ore mined from the earth and this raw material could then be used to manufacture steel. Shale oil are rocks containing the basics needed to make them into petroleum. Copper is a raw material mined from the earth that can be used for the manufacture of copper wire and was used to make the American penny. Sometimes more then one raw material is needed to make a particular kind of substance. Compounds to make cloth carpets resistant to stains may be from several chemicals.
