First of all, obviously, one is japanese, and the other is australian, secondly, japanese food is categorized by diverse style of cooking and classes of food, such as raw(sashimi), steamed, grilled, smoked, and many more, and further into the japs cooking style, we have fish, veggies, and etc. Vis a vis, japanese food is largely involved with seafood, we're talking about fish, abalones, seaweed and basically anything that they could fish out of the sea, they'll eat it, and the basis of most jap. food is comprised of rice, soy sauce, fermented soy and rice-(miso) and seaweed. Japanese food is more dense in flavours especially salty and sweet, they tend to go the extreme, like wasabi, which is very pungent and stings when you eat it, but tastes excellent with ebiko and some kikkoman on rice rolls. Well as for australian food, it's just pretty much similar to most food that you can find in most countries, but they do have a distinct trait of a grill loving type of food, and they love their meat, char burned and smoking, but I know too little on australian food to have any opinions regarding it. That is all
