Paleontology is the study of fossils (any evidences of ancient life) in order to compile information about the history of life on Earth. Examples of paleontology related activities would be the search for and recovery of fossils, the reconstruction and cleaning of fossils, identification and cataloging of fossils, preparation of museum exhibits, and creating hypotheses and theories on ancient organisms' evolution and behaviors.
That depends entirely on your area, some areas have paleontology and some don't.
