The purpose of persuasive writing is used to convince someone to adopt your views It is best to not use words that could be seen as offensive to the person you are convincing EX: if you were convincing your mom to extend your curfew you would not say she 'hovers too much'

You would start with something like:

Mom, I would like to run something past you. These past years I have done a lot of growing up. I feel that I am able to take more responsibility, seeing as I will not fall behind in my other duties. To this I conclude that I would like an extension in curfew.

• Write What You Know. Write about something that interests you, either something that you already know a lot about (like your job or your hobby), or something you like enough to have done a lot of research about. There is little that is more annoying to a reader than finding an error of logic in the middle of an otherwise good story - for example, a story about Irish characters, only when you read the dialogue, they are using Aussie slang and idioms. If you are not certain of anything - a term, a location, even a spelling - look it up!
• Respect the Language. Use proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. If you aren't certain, look it up before you write it down. Don't depend on a Spell-Check program entirely, because they can make mistakes. I use a dictionary and a thesaurus, plus a copy of the MLA guidelines.
• Write ... and Write Some More. You can't finish the book if you don't write. Set aside some time every day to write. Set a goal - a certain number of words or a certain number of pages - and complete that goal every day. If you treat your writing as if it is your job (and you hope it will be, right?), then you will not skive off and get lazy.
• Read. Reading what other writers have done will give you an idea of what sells, as well as showing you how the mechanics of the job are done - descriptions, dialogue, plot and subplot. Just don't read so much that you cut into your writing time!
• Observe. Good writers are good observers - use your senses to observe the world around you. Keep a notebook and pen or pencil with you at all times to jot down memorable descriptions, scraps of overheard conversation, and ideas that pop up at odd times.
• Network. Joining a creative writing group can help ... sometimes. You do need to be careful that the group you have joined is actually providing constructive criticism instead (some groups turn into fan clubs that think everything is wonderful, others are so nit-picky that they make you despair of ever finishing). Writing conventions are great places to meet other writers, editors, and publishers. Once you become published, you can usually finagle a paying "job" as a guest speaker, but until then, save up the ticket cost and go meet some people.

One Idea

Try to create a story be in tune with the characters - become them and live their lives, and then let your mind flow. Write what the character feels. Keep a note pad with you and a pen that works at all times. Any ideas that you come up with, write them down. Remember that the best storys are made from your own experiences - wrap them into your story. The rest is up to you.

Another Idea

This differs. Everyone has his or her personal style of writing a novel. To me, it is to just sit down, scribble down all the ideas and then put them in order, glueing them together with thoughts that pop up and then dividing it into parts. But it can be different.

However, an idea is the most important thing you need to write a novel. And by gathering all your ideas, putting them in order, you'll know if you have a good idea. And keep in mind: it's best to have too many ideas for a novel instead of one or two. You can never cram a novel with your ideas but a novel can have a lack of interesting parts.

One way is to write a certain number of pages or words a day. Some call it good after writing two, three, or even ten pages a day. Others make it a point to write 10,000 words a day. Some people do it slowly and write just one page a day.

Others start from the last chapter and go to the first. Pace isn't a big one here. I find this one confusing, but it works for my friend.

My favorite way is the NaNoWriMo method. Check out their website at the link below. It teaches you how to write a whole novel in just 30 days. Before I could never stick to my writing, but after I found this, I was able to write seven different stories.

My advice is to read! Reading is a really good way to get ideas. You can see different styles of writing. A good way to write a novel is to write it from different point of views.

write about something that happened in real life. or if u have read a book that was inspiring then u can use some of the idea they had. like if u read a vampire book, u can write about vampires if that is what inspires u. or write about something u think would be funny!

Many people love to write. It depend's most of all what your story is about. Fantasy? Horror? Many people write in 1st person or 3rd person, it all come's down to what's most comfortable to you.

First of all come up with interesting characters don't make there name's too odd or the reader will think your trying to hard. Jot down every little detail about them from their favorite color to their personality. Make sure you have enough character's but don't have 1,000. Make your character stand out, give them a little spice by giving them each a different personality.

You want to plan out how your story goes for example: lily goes to the shop her mother asked her to go to. Lily get's a feeling someone is following her. Lily get's kidnapped... etc. Don't make it have to much though.

I write my story by starting off with an interesting beginning of course everyone write's differently. But if your beginning is too interesting the reader will probably drop the book thinking the story has too many character's, a too interesting plot etc.

Next i like to go into talking about the character slowly, don't make yourself go to fast. You don't want it to rush into thing's, give little detail about the character then work up from there. Also make sure it does not sound childish.

What ever you do. do not! I say do not jumble thing's up, it will become to confusing and the reader will become un-interested. example: I'm Jane. I'm 15. Alone. Sad. frustrated with life. one day i say a pony. I have a little sister her name is Bailey. I like chip's. See? To much going on instead start off with something simple, One day i walked to the spot my father and i visited from when i was younger, i had seen my first pony that day. Her fur dappled in sun-light.

Keep moving on slowly when you get to an interesting spot speed thing's up a little. Example: His fist covered in sweat dripped slowly, i had zoned out completely until reality hit me like a bullet. Don't add to much info.

My advice is to try and develop the ability to create your own writing prompts. You can do this with practice and by learning from examples. Writing is harder for an author than it is for anybody else. But practice makes perfect.
