To answer the phone promptly, take telephone customer orders properly, pass on telephone and internet customers' orders to the kitchen, help seat those who enter the restaurant for a sit-down meal, and accept payment from both sit-down and take-out customers.

Some of the time, the receptionist is also an on-duty waiter/waitress or manager, which means they may have additional responsibilities as well.
