The Legislative branch of Congress have 2 year terms. All members are up for re-election the same year. The term of Senators, however, run 6 years, and elections for them are staggered as 1/3 are up for re-election at different times.

A Congressperson's term is a MAXIMUM of two years. If elected, it is exactly two years. If the person is appointed by virtue of the incumbent having died or been removed from office, the term could be less than two years.
