They Move They Reproduce They are Sensitive They take in Nutrients They Excrete They Respire (breathe) They Grow
You can remember it by using the first letters of each word, like this:
"Mrs Nerg" - Move, Reproduce, Sensitive; Nutrients, Excrete, Respire, Grow
or you can use "Mrs Gren" and remember Move, Reproduce, Sensitive, Grow, Respire, Excrete, Nutrients
Living organisms have characteristics of life that non-living organisms do not have. These characteristics are:
1) Responds to Stimuli- If there is danger, a living organism will run away. If it is hungry, the organism will move to a spot where there's food. Stimuli is what makes the organism respond.
2) Uses Energy- All living things use energy. A human uses energy most often by walking. A horse uses energy to run about a corral.
3) Has Cells- Cells are the basic building blocks of life. All living organisms must have at least one cell to be alive.
4) Reproduces- In order for a species to survive, they must reproduce. All living organisms reproduce, or have offspring.
5) Growth and Development- All living organisms grow and develop to their surroundings. Non-living organisms cannot grow or develop. All living organisms eventually die, while non-living organisms do not. They remain for as long as they are not rusted or rotting.
Well first off, if something is nonliving, it us not an organism. There is no such thing as a nonliving organism, but the difference between living and nonliving things is pretty clear and easy to understand.
There are six rules to use (and all must be met) to determine if something is living or not:
1) can it move on its own?
2) does it consume some form of energy?
3) does it use some form if excretion?
4) can it reproduce?
5) does it exchange gases with the atmosphere?
6) is it made of organic cells?
If all of these requirements are met, then most likely the thing is alive.
1. They grow
2. They react to stimulus
3. They reproduce
4. They adapt
Responsiveness, reproduction, evolution, and metabolism.
the characteristics of living organism is? REPRODUCTION
the physical characteristic of an organism is called its phenotype
5 traits are they are organized, grow and develope , take in and use energy.
The characteristics of living organisms are all organisms are made up of cells and they grow. Living organisms reproduce and also consume energy. They also respond and adapt to their environment.
An organism is a living thing. It takes nutrients from its surrounding and produces wastes (metabolism). A feather cannot do this. It also can not reproduce itself. These are two main characteristics of an organism.
organism cells energy nutrients
reproduction
The characteristics of a living organism would be that it can grow, reproduce, is made of cells, and can adapt to the environment. All living things can do this.

Just about ALL human (and living organism) characteristics are affected by genes.
No. A living thing has to have exactly all of the following five characteristics of a living thing to be living:Responsive to the environmentBeing able to reproduceUsing energyGrowing and DevelopingBeing made of cells
Something that has never been alive means it is a non-living thing without any life and characteristics of living organism. Whereas...... A dead organism may mean that ONCE it used to be a living organism and had all the living organism's characteristics... but all of these functions has JUST collapsed in it to happen. So, the conclusion is a dead organism has stopped to possess the characteristics of living organism, however it can't YET be classified as a non-living material. Simply it has stopped to possess characteristics like a living organism. Therefore, a dead has 1. no more nutrition -( digestion) 2. no more respiration 3. no reproduction 4. no homoeostasis and neither stimulation nor excretion. So, what may be the difference between a dead living and a non-living? Practically and also in biological point of view -NO DIFFERENCE at all. CONCLUSION: A non-alive or non-living is always an object or thing that never have any characteristics of living objects, whereas a dead object used to have all the characteristics but just stopped to have at present.
Just about ALL human (and living organism) characteristics are affected by genes.
Yes plankton is an organism because it fits all of the six characteristics of living organisms.yes it is
