The eyes of the coelacanth are extremely sensitive to light and contain a special adaptation known as a tapetum, which is also found in cats, dogs, and dolphins. Their highly specialized eye enables the coelacanth to see as much as possible in the lightless deep sea. Other adaptations are that they hunt at night because of their slow speed and they sleep in caves to keep their body temperature more constant.71

they grew four legs to help it survive

Nonsense. The Coelacanths have no legs now and never did...they are fish and they and their relatives always have been fish. Coelacanths belong to a group of fishes nearly all of which have been extinct for millions of years called Crossopterygians (lobe-finned fishes), and the classification of those lobe-finned fishes has become very complex.

Let me just say that the Coelacanths are related to a group of extinct lobe-finned fishes known as Rhipidistians, and one group of Rhipidistians almost certainly gave rise to the first land-dwelling vertebrates, the tetrapods - specifically, the Amphibia.

Coelacanths are nocturnal animals and normally hunt for prey at night. Because of their dark body color, they can approach prey without being detected.

They can slow down their metabolisms, minimizing their nutrulism needs, technically hybernating their bodies, which is why most scientists believe they live so long.
