Some advantages of a hacksaw are its small size, quick cutting, and ease of use. Some disadvantages are that it requires strength to operate, can only perform small jobs, and is much slower than electric alternatives.
The advantages are obviously fast cutting of wood, ease of cutting if you are doing a lot. The only possible disadvantage may, on some large building sites having to reel out along extension to power outlet.
The advantages are that it cuts faster, and in the hands of an experienced operator, cuts a straighter line. The only disadvantage I can see is having to lay out a lot of power cord if the tool is to be used far from the outlet (as does happen on many building sites).
They cut faster and can do cleaner cuts in experienced hands. -I can't think of any disadvantages.
The fretsaw is very useful for cutting intricate shapes in wood. However it's major shortcoming is the fragility of the blades, which can snap quite easily.
