Strength and durability of cement-stabilized laterite hollow blocks made with laterite soils at three different locations in Edo State were studied. To this end, blocks were produced with water content at about the optimum moisture with varying percentages of cement from 3% to 15% at 2% increments and compactive pressures ranging from 3.44 N/mm2 to 17.20 N/mm2. The result showed that for 7% cement content and 13.76 N/mm2 compactive pressure, blocks of strength of at least 2.0N/mm2 at 28 days, could be produced. The blocks showed no features of wear after exposure to rain with weight losses within permissible limits after 12-cycles of wetting-brushing-drying. Cost analysis showed that laterite blocks have 40% cost advantage over similar sandcrete blocks.
ADAVANTAGES: Strength • durability • cement • stabilization • laterites
Blocks are load bearing, bricks are not.
Not enough.
The concrete blocks on the top of the hill is probably a retaining wall. Concrete blocks are used to help hold back the ground from sliding down the hill.
Concrete blocks are large cement bricks used in construction. The main purpose of concrete blocks is for building foundations, basement walls, exterior and partition walls.
Because in summers the cement blocks stsrt expanding due t o excessive heat, So to stop it we fill pitch betwwen them which hold the blocks tightly and stop them to contract in winters.if there would be continuous expansion and contraction the cemen blocks would have cracks and they would break down.
Because It has laterite in it.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of shareblocks
Blocks are load bearing, bricks are not.
Laterite is used for construct houses, it gives a beautiful and a earthy home. U can save lots by building with a laterite.
Laterite soil is found in Tamil Nadu and Orissa.
There are many advantages of using power blocks. Power blocks are used to help the triceps and biceps increase in size at a faster rate. One can purchase power blocks from stores that specialize in weight lifting equipment.
Laterite soil is red in colour due to the presence of oxides of iron.

Laterite soil is formed by the leaching of lateritic rocks so it is known as leached soil

the crops grown in laterite soil are coconut tea and coffee . it is rich in iron and aluminum hydroxide.
