It depends on what kind of dancing you are doing but when in doubt....turn to the basics of Ballet. Most dances contain ballet positions. 1st position is standing with your feet together. 2nd is standing with your feet apart, and so on. A pirouette is a turn used in just about all types of dances. Different studios teach different ways to prep but the turn itself is one leg standing on rel ave and the other foot up at the knee of the leg turning. During the turn you try to keep your focus on something. That is called spotting (it helps you balance)

There are box steps, chanae (three step turn), chase`(french word) in Jazz dance, and flap( pronounced like fa~lap), shuffle, ball change,brush in tap!
