The only cause of air lock is the emptiness of fuel tank.

When fuel tank is empty the air bubble got entrapped into the injector of fuel which resist the further supply of fuel to cylinder.This entrapped air can be removed by using small manual hand pumps available there for this purpose.

A leak in a supply line before the pump.
