In Athens, boys would have been home schooled until the age of 7, then they would have been sent to a school for primary education until they were 14 years old. Athenians were taught literature, philosophy and sports. They were required to attend a two year military school at the age of 18. Athenian girls did not receive any type of education. Spartan boys were sent to military school at the age of 7. They went through a rigorous and harsh program until they were 18. At that point they joined the Spartan military.
In Sparta the girls play sports like Running, and how to throw the Javelin. This kept them fit for them so that when they grow up they would be healthy moms. In Athens the girls stayed home and did household stuff. The learned to read and write and played stringed instrument called the Lyre.

Spartans had a better armty
Spartans are from Sparta and Athens are from Athen. Plus, Athens was just a city-state, whereas Sparta is an entire different nationality.
